jarvis-shell: Next-Generation AI Integrated Shell

Overview

jarvis-shell is a next-generation AI-integrated shell developed in Rust. Inspired by J.A.R.V.I.S. from Marvel's Iron Man, it integrates an AI assistant into the terminal.

Rather than being a mere wrapper around existing shells (Bash, Zsh), it deeply integrates AI into the shell workflow itself, enabling a seamless experience where you can switch between normal commands and natural language.

• Natural Language Execution: You can input natural language at the command prompt and interact with AI. It executes optimal commands on your behalf.
• Smart Error Handling: When a command fails, it reads stdout/stderr, automatically analyzes the cause, and suggests solutions.
• AI Pipe & AI Redirect: Process text with natural language like ls -la | ai "最も大きいファイルは？"
• Full History Preservation (The Black Box): Saves all commands, timestamps, and outputs to a Git-like history storage. Sensitive information such as API keys is automatically masked.
• Fast UX: Leveraging Rust's performance, Git status checks run in the background. Supports Fish-like autocompletion, full PTY support, and Starship prompt integration.
• Directory Jumping: Quickly navigate to recently visited directories with cdhist and cdj
• Glob & Brace Expansion: Supports Bash/Zsh-compatible filename expansion.

Supported AI Models

As of v2.0.0, you can now select AI model providers from OpenAI, Anthropic, and OpenCode Zen/Go. You can start using them simply by setting API keys via environment variables.
