I didn't want to adjust my strength training records to fit an app's specifications. Freedom in recording, easy input, deep analysis, reasonable pricing, and NO lock-in. While creating RENMA with AI, I wrote down what I've always valued.

I've always wondered why keeping track of strength training records requires so much compromise. That frustration, which I'd been carrying for a long time, is what inspired me to create RENMA.
Weight, reps, sets. Some days that's all you need. But the more dedicated you are to training, the more information you want to preserve. Machine seat position, grip type, weight and reps for each side, your condition that day. Even the same exercise feels different on different machines at different gyms.
I want to record things properly, but they don't fit into the categories the app provides. If I try to write freely, everything gets crammed into a notes field. Spreadsheets offer freedom, but entering detailed information every time you train is tedious. Having to stop training to record information, and accumulating notes I can't read back later—that wasn't how I wanted to use an app.
I want to record freely. But I don't want complicated operations. I want to deeply review the records I've accumulated, and I want to use it as affordably as possible. Rather than giving up on any one of these, I wanted all of them. So I decided to build it myself. That's RENMA.
"Where did I set the seat on this machine?" "What grip did I use today?" I wanted to be able to decide my own categories and record even those small details.
With RENMA, you can record weight and reps separately for each side. With Pro/Lifetime, you can create custom fields for numbers and selections, and manage settings for each gym and machine. Basic recording with left/right separation is free, while creating and editing custom fields, entering values, and setting up and selecting gyms and machines are paid features. I didn't want to force training into a shape the app decided on just to record the information I need.
Even if you can add fields freely, if input is tedious, you won't stick with it. I cared about this just as much as the freedom to record.
Carry over the previous weight and reps, and adjust only what changed. Use +/- buttons for numbers and scroll input to reduce the hassle of retyping on the keyboard. I wanted to achieve both the ability to record details and the ability to record with minimal operations.
Even though I recorded it, I couldn't easily find what I wanted to know later. This was something I absolutely had to solve.
Not just whether weight increased, but what changed before and after adjusting seat position or grip, how the left and right results have changed over time. I want to review my training while looking at the conditions I recorded. So in addition to history and basic graphs, Pro/Lifetime lets you compare and analyze custom fields according to their type.
I don't want to just line up numbers and call it done. I want it to be a tool where you can think for yourself based on your own records.
I've been creating RENMA as an individual developer, working with AI. Designing, implementing, actually using it, and fixing things I'm not satisfied with. That's the cycle. I've decided what to make recordable and what operations you can sustain daily by testing it myself.
By keeping development and operational costs down through solo development and AI, I want to reflect that in the price. Because it's a tool you use for daily recording, I want to minimize the burden of continuing to use it. Basic features are free with no ads. For those who want to record more freely and analyze more deeply, I've prepared Pro and Lifetime, a one-time purchase option with the same features.
One more thing I couldn't compromise on: "no lock-in." Your training history is an asset you've built up over years—it belongs to you.
RENMA stores data on your device, and backup, restore, and export in CSV/JSON formats are all free. Even if you cancel your paid plan, your past records remain and you can view and export them. When you want to switch to another app or spreadsheet, you don't have to leave your records behind.
To protect the data on your device, I want you to keep backups outside your device too. There's no automatic cloud sync. I prioritize a form where you can manage your own records in your own hands.
Recording freely, continuing effortlessly, reviewing deeply. Affordable pricing and the freedom to stop using it. I created RENMA because I care about all of these. I'd be happy if people who've been compromising between what they want to record and the input fields an app offers would use it.
Japan pricing: Basic recording, left/right separate recording, history, basic analysis, backup, restore, and CSV/JSON export are free with no ads. Custom field creation, editing, value input, and analysis, as well as gym and machine setup and selection are available with Pro/Lifetime. Pro is ¥300/month or ¥2,400/year (annual payment, ¥200/month average), with monthly and annual options auto-renewing. Lifetime is a one-time purchase of ¥7,800 for the same features. The first 14 days let you try Pro features free, and you won't be auto-charged if you don't purchase. Prices confirmed as of October 27, 2026. Please check the Google Play display at the time of purchase.
