Someone's charging

Overview

A small web app that gazes at the current smartphone battery charge level of someone whose name you don't know. It simply observes the charge level that someone somewhere in the world has entered themselves—no rankings, no conversations, just watching.

Main Features

• Random Display: Displays one random post from the past 24 hours
• Reactions: Emoji reactions based on battery level (worried emoji for low battery, clapping hands for 100%)
• Easy Posting: Post an integer from 0–100 using a slider or numeric input
• Anonymity: No poster names or personal information are stored; only an auto-generated nickname is kept
• History Management: Stores up to 12 recently viewed posts locally on your device
• Sharing Feature: Post content can be shared or copied (poster information is not included)
• Accessibility: Supports dark/light display, responsive design, keyboard operation, and reduced motion settings
• PWA Support: Can be installed and displays guidance even when offline

Privacy First

• Does not use location information, device fingerprinting, or Battery Status API
• Only four fields are stored in Firestore: charge level, post time, expiration, and anonymous name
• Posts are automatically deleted after 24 hours
• Measurement data contains no personal information—only mode (demo/production) and operation name are sent
