Free in-browser metadata & AI provenance cleaner for images, video, PDF, and RAW files.
02
AI Metadata Cleaner is a free in-browser metadata and AI provenance cleaner for images, video, PDF, and RAW files. It inspects and strips EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, C2PA Content Credentials, and AI generator tags from Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, GPT-Image-2, and Veo 3. Processing runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. There are zero file uploads, no signup, and no account. Pricing is 100% free.
The utility is built for AI artists, photographers, and privacy-conscious creators who need to see what a file is carrying before they share it. Camera EXIF, GPS location tags, XMP and IPTC blocks, Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI generation prompt chunks, and C2PA/JUMBF container markers are detected and removed on the device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and HEIC. Video: MP4, MOV, and WebM. Documents: PDF. Camera RAW: DNG, CR2, NEF, and ARW, decoded with LibRaw WebAssembly.
For RAW files, use the Browser-Based Camera RAW (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG) EXIF & MakerNotes Cleaner.
AI Metadata Cleaner strips container-level metadata and C2PA/JUMBF markers. Pixel-domain SynthID watermarks are detected and explained. They are not removed, because they live in the image pixels rather than in the file container. Optional Canvas re-encoding still does not erase those pixel watermarks. The tool also does not guarantee how third-party social platforms apply their own AI labels after you upload a cleaned file.
Does the file leave my browser? No. AI Metadata Cleaner is 100% client-side. Zero file uploads. Processing uses WebAssembly in the browser.
Is it free? Yes. It is 100% free, with no signup required, and it runs locally in the browser.
What does it remove? EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, C2PA Content Credentials, JUMBF container markers, and AI generator tags from Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, GPT-Image-2, and Veo 3, plus ComfyUI prompt chunks.
