In Japan, with the progress of passive smoking countermeasures, the places where people can smoke in public have become increasingly limited. On the other hand, smoking rules differ by region and facility, and particularly for international visitors and business travelers, confusion about "where can I smoke?" occurs on a daily basis.
Motto Suitai is a free service that solves this information imbalance through a simple map interface. Over 3,500 smoking areas are registered throughout Japan, and users can narrow down their search by station name, area, tobacco type, facilities, and other conditions. The service supports 8 languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, making it designed for international visitors to use with confidence.
The service name "Motto Suitai" combines smokers' honest feelings with "a town I'd like to live in more." Our vision for the future is to align the interests of three parties—smokers, non-smokers, and the town itself—so that everyone benefits.
