Recessed Light Calculator is a free web tool for early planning of general lighting in a rectangular room. Enter room dimensions, a target light level and the light output per fixture to estimate a fixture count and see an adjustable 2D layout. The plan can be exported as PNG or CSV. The estimates are a starting point, not a field measurement, electrical design, or installation approval.
